11 Bassein Road has always appeared more of a historical site to me whenever I take a turn from Balestier Road to go to Mandalay Road. The reason being that I witness the intriguing structural ‘remains’ on the piece of plot with hoarding surrounding the site.

We witnessed several successful enbloc of industrial buildings in Balestier, the 6 Jalan Ampas industrial building early this year and the recent 21 Kim Keat Road site. We are seeing the area to be slowly rejuvenating and making its way to high rise residential area after the Urban Redevelopment Authority announced the area to be considered rezoning for residential use in 2008. Strayed trolleys are not only found under the void decks of HDB. I witnessed this amusing sight of few trolleys being parked just out one high end condominium development in Newton area. The residents must have it much easier to deliver their groceries from the nearby shopping mall. Guess what? The trolleys are from the Cold Storage. Sky @ Eleven has obtained TOP last month, as reported by the media SPH today. Located in the District 11 off Thomson Road, you are able to see the development rising into the sky when you are driving along the Thomson Road towards PIE highway.
